FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions buyers ask before the first container.

What is your minimum order quantity?+

Trial orders start at 500 kg per SKU for standard grades and 1,000 kg for premium grades. Mixed-SKU containers are welcome — we accept the small multi-SKU orders that larger manufacturers decline.

Can I get a free sample?+

Yes. Samples are dispatched within 48 hours of confirmation. We ship 250 g–1 kg cans, colour cards and an application guide. Courier cost is borne by the buyer, or credited against your first order.

Which certifications do you hold?+

CCC — China Compulsory Product Certification, No. 2025122104123145, issued 2025-04-02 and valid until 2029-11-06. This is currently the only third-party certification we can present. China Environmental Labeling, French A+ and ISO 9001/14001 are under application, available upon request — we do not claim them as granted.

What is your price per kilogram?+

Our published figures are reference ranges only: interior emulsion USD 1.85–2.05/kg, exterior stone paint USD 2.40–3.99/kg, waterproofing USD 0.60–1.60/kg. Final FOB pricing depends on grade, colour, packaging and volume — please send your specification and a human specialist will quote within 24 hours.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

How long does production and delivery take?+

Samples: 48 hours. Production: 7–15 days after deposit, depending on quantity and customisation. Sea freight from Nansha Port: 3–8 days to Vietnam and Cambodia, 12–18 days to Jebel Ali (Dubai).

What payment terms do you accept?+

100% T/T in advance, or 30% deposit with 70% payable against a copy of the bill of lading. Open-account terms are not available at this stage.

Are your coatings hazardous goods for shipping?+

Water-based wall coatings are inherently low-hazard — water-borne, flash point above 60°C, APEO-free, heavy metals within limits. Transport classification for each shipment is set by the applicable appraisal, arranged per order; we do not assert a standing non-hazardous general-cargo status. PU/NC wood coatings are UN1263 and require dangerous-goods packaging.

Do you support OEM and private label?+

Yes. We provide formula adjustment, colour matching, pail and label printing, export documentation and compliance files under your brand. MOQ for private label starts at one 20GP container.

Can we visit or audit your factory?+

Yes. Our site is in the Magang Industrial Zone, Ronggui, Shunde, Foshan — about 60 km from Nansha Port and reachable from Guangzhou in roughly 90 minutes. We support on-site audits, third-party inspections and video audits.

Which markets do you currently serve?+

We are building export channels in Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines), the Middle East (UAE as a transit hub, then Saudi Arabia) and Central Asia. We will state our actual shipping record honestly rather than claim markets we have not served.

Do you publish a price list?+

We publish FOB reference ranges per category rather than a fixed price list, because final price depends on grade, colour, packaging and volume. Send us your specification and a human specialist will quote within 24 hours.

Can you quote CIF or CFR instead of FOB?+

Yes. We quote FOB Nansha as the default and can quote CFR or CIF on request — just tell us the destination port or city, and we price freight and insurance separately so you can see what each part costs.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

Do prices drop with larger volume?+

Yes — pricing is tiered by total volume per order, and mixing several products in one container is allowed. Tell us the products, quantities and destination and we will send the applicable tier.

Which currency will you invoice in?+

USD is standard. RMB and other currencies are possible on request — tell us which one your bank handles easily. Bank charges outside China are normally borne by the buyer, as is standard in international trade.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

Do you offer credit terms or open account?+

Not at this stage. Our terms are 100% T/T in advance, or 30% deposit with the balance against a copy of the bill of lading. Once we have a trading record with you, we can discuss other arrangements.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

How long is your quotation valid?+

The FOB reference ranges on this site are indicative. A firm quotation states its own validity date, normally 7 to 15 days, because resin and pigment costs move. Please order within the validity period printed on your quotation.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

Who pays the bank charges?+

Bank charges outside China are normally borne by the buyer, and charges inside China by us — this is the most common arrangement in international trade. The exact split is written on your quotation and your PI, so there is no surprise later.

Can you send the technical data sheet and colour card?+

Yes. Tell us which category and grade you are interested in and we will send the matching technical data sheet, safety data sheet and our standard colour range. For a specific Pantone or reference colour, we can match it — a minimum quantity applies.

How quickly can a sample be dispatched?+

Samples are arranged as soon as colour and specification are confirmed. We confirm the dispatch date in writing before production, and we also state the courier cost so there is no ambiguity. Sample cans are 250 g to 1 kg.

Who pays for the sample and the courier?+

The sample itself is usually free; the courier is at the buyer’s cost, or credited against your first order if you prefer. That way serious buyers and casual askers are treated the same — and we both know where we stand.

What is your production lead time?+

Typically 7 to 15 days after the deposit is received and the final colour is approved, depending on quantity and whether the order is customised. The date is confirmed in writing in the proforma invoice so both sides work to the same plan.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

Can you deliver faster if we need it urgently?+

Often yes, because we work with a partner network in the Shunde cluster rather than a single production line. Give us the required date and we will confirm in writing what is feasible — we will never promise a date we cannot hold.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

Can you reserve stock for us?+

Possible with a written reservation and an agreed production window, subject to available capacity. We would rather hold stock against a signed plan than keep it idle, so we agree the schedule and any storage arrangement in advance.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

Can we mix several products in one container?+

Yes, and this is normal for us. Mixed containers with several references are welcome — we are set up to handle small multi-product orders that larger manufacturers decline. Tell us the list and quantities and we will plan the loading.

Do you supply primer, putty and the complete wall system?+

Yes. We can quote the complete system — primer, putty, topcoat and waterproofing — so you buy one system from one supplier instead of four. It also reduces the number of failure points on site.

What is the difference between your product grades?+

Interior emulsion comes in economy, standard and premium grades; exterior and waterproofing differ in resin type and coverage. Rather than listing numbers here, we recommend the grade by surface, budget and expected use — tell us the project and we will specify.

Is your paint suitable for humid and coastal areas?+

It depends on the system, not on one product. Tell us the location, the substrate and whether the wall is in direct sun or splash zone, and we will specify the correct grade and the number of coats. Coastal and high-humidity projects get a different recommendation than inland projects.

What is the VOC level of your products?+

We do not print numbers on this page, because VOC depends on the grade and must match the technical data sheet of the exact product you order. Send us the grade and application and we will send the measured figures with the TDS.

How many square metres does one pail cover?+

Coverage depends on solids content, substrate porosity and application method, so the figure in the technical data sheet is the one to plan with. Send us the substrate and the number of coats you need and we will calculate the quantity for you.

Can you match a specific colour?+

Yes. We can match to a Pantone reference, a physical sample you courier to us, or a colour you describe. A minimum quantity applies for a custom match, and we confirm the match with you before production.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

How do you control colour difference between batches?+

We work with in-house colour matching, not by eye alone: each batch is compared against a sealed standard sample, and the batch is released only when it falls inside the agreed tolerance. We can send the retained sample with the shipment so your laboratory can verify it too.

What is the shelf life of your paint?+

Shelf life is stated on the technical data sheet of each grade, so we quote it per product rather than as one number. Storage condition matters as much as the date: sealed pails, kept away from direct sun and freezing. We will send the TDS before you order.

How should the paint be stored?+

In the original sealed pail, upright, in a dry place between 5 and 40°C, out of direct sunlight and away from anything that may ignite. Do not stack more than the number of pails specified — water-based pails are heavy and the bottom can bulge.

Can your paint be applied at 50°C?+

Application temperature and substrate temperature both matter, and 50°C is at the upper edge for water-based coatings. Tell us the surface type, whether the wall is shaded, and the time of day you plan to paint — we will specify the right system and the workable window, and we will say so honestly if it is not workable.

Do you have UV ageing test data?+

We prefer to give you the test method and duration rather than a marketing adjective. Ask us for the accelerated ageing data of the specific grade — hours of exposure and the result (chalking grade, colour difference) — and we will send the report, or say plainly if that grade has not been tested yet.

Are your coatings dangerous goods for shipping?+

We do not publish a general classification, because it is confirmed case by case for each shipment. PU/NC wood coatings are UN1263 and require dangerous-goods packaging; water-based wall coatings are handled according to the safety data sheet of the exact grade you order. We will state the classification in writing before shipment — and we never declare wood coatings as general cargo.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

Which port do you ship from?+

Nansha Port in Guangzhou, about 60 km from our plant, is our default. Yantian Port is available as an alternative. We quote FOB Nansha unless you ask for another port, and we can also quote CIF to your destination port.

How long does transit take to my port?+

From Nansha, roughly 3–8 days to Vietnam and Cambodia and 12–18 days to Jebel Ali in Dubai. These are typical sea transit times; port congestion, customs clearance and seasonal weather add days. We build the schedule backwards from your required arrival date, not forwards from the shipment date.

How many pails fit in a 20GP?+

For water-based pails a 20GP is limited by weight rather than volume: roughly 800 to 820 pails, that is 21 to 22 tonnes. Iron drums of 200L change that number completely. Tell us the pack size and we will calculate the exact loading plan with the container line.

Which documents do I need for customs clearance?+

The usual set is commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading. For some destinations buyers also ask for the certificate of origin, which we can arrange. Ask us early if your country requires a specific certificate — some markets require documents we cannot issue, and it is far better to know that before production than after.

Who pays duties and import taxes?+

We quote FOB or CIF, so duties and import taxes are normally on the buyer’s account. We can suggest an HS code and declare the true value — we do not under-invoice, and we will not suggest anything that would make your customs clearance dishonest.

Do you accept third-party inspection before shipment?+

Yes, and we welcome it. We support third-party inspection, pre-shipment inspection and video audits. Book the inspector through your own agent or ours, and we will prepare the batch, the production records and the packing list in advance so the inspection is not wasted on a missing document.

Do your products meet Vietnamese requirements?+

Vietnam applies QCVN technical requirements for this product group, and we handle that per shipment rather than claiming a blanket compliance. Send us the exact product and we will tell you which requirement applies, what we can supply, and where the buyer must obtain local confirmation. Being straight about this is more useful to you than a general claim.

Can we start with a small trial order?+

Yes — trial orders start at 500 kg per reference for standard grades and 1,000 kg for premium, and we accept mixed containers. If you are new to us, the most useful first step is usually a sample plus one mixed container, not a full programme.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

Can we pay in USD or in local currency?+

USD is simplest and fastest. Local currency is possible for Vietnamese, Cambodian and Saudi buyers through our bank, but it adds conversion cost and time, and the rate we get is not always the best one for you. Ask us and we will show you both numbers so you can compare.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

What is your company name and address?+

Foshan Shunde Youqing Paint Building Materials Co., Ltd. — established 2013, with coatings manufacturing added to the business scope in 2024. Registered address: Magang Industrial Zone, Ronggui, Shunde, Foshan, Guangdong, China — about 60 km from Nansha Port.

Are you a factory or a trading company?+

We are a coatings company with in-house production combined with a pre-qualified network of Shunde OEM partners. That is how we take small multi-product orders that single-line factories cannot, and how we scale to full-container volumes. We are happy to show you which parts we make ourselves and which we make with partners.

Do you have in-house R&D and quality control?+

Yes. We do formulation, colour matching and batch testing in house, and our dosing, colour management and batch evaluation systems are registered software copyrights. It means the person who mixes your batch is not guessing — the recipe is fixed, the tolerance is defined, and the result is recorded.

Are you willing to sign an NDA?+

Yes, without hesitation — for your formulation, your brand and your artwork. We ask only that the NDA be mutual where it involves our own formula know-how, so that neither side is exposed. Send yours and we will return a signed copy, or mark up your version.

Which countries have you already shipped to?+

We will be straight with you: tell us your market and we will tell you exactly what our experience level is there, including where we are new. We would rather you know that before ordering than discover it after the container arrives.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

How quickly do you reply?+

Enquiries get a reply within one working day, and a firm quotation within 24 hours once we have the specification. Messages that reach us outside working hours are usually answered the next morning — if something is urgent, tell us your deadline and we will work to it.

Why should we buy from you instead of a local supplier?+

Three reasons that we can actually document: we are in the Shunde coatings cluster, so formulation and raw material access are local and fast; we accept small mixed-SKU orders that single-line suppliers decline; and we publish only the certification we can show you — currently CCC. If a local supplier can do all three better for you, buy from them; we would rather say so.

What happens if there is a quality complaint?+

We keep a retained sample from every batch, so a claim can be checked against the actual production rather than argued about. Our preference is to replace or top up what did not perform rather than argue about freight costs. State the batch number and the problem and we will act on it.

Do you provide application guides or training?+

Yes. Application data sheets, colour cards and short application videos go with the goods at no extra charge, and for first orders we can arrange an on-site application demonstration with the partner factory. Local painters learn a new product quickly when they see it being brushed out.

How many coats do I need?+

As a rule: one primer coat plus two finish coats on the wall system, and two coats on textured or special-effect finishes. More coats are needed over very absorbent or repaired surfaces. We will confirm the system for your project rather than quote a number blind — send us the substrate and the area.

Do I need a primer?+

On new plaster, on repaired areas and on highly absorbent substrates, yes — a primer seals the surface and gives the finish coat a stable base to bond to, which is where most adhesion failures start. On a previously painted sound wall it is often unnecessary. We will tell you honestly which case your project is.

How do I work out how much paint I need?+

Multiply the surface area by the number of coats, then divide by the coverage per litre for that grade, then add 10–15% for cutting-in, losses and future touch-up. Do not use one figure for the whole system — primer and finish coat have different coverage rates. Give us area, coats and substrate and we will calculate it for you.

What temperature and humidity can I paint in?+

Best conditions are 5–35°C with relative humidity below 85%, and the wall itself drier than 10% moisture content. In Southeast Asia that means avoiding the peak rainy afternoon and painting early morning or late afternoon; in the Middle East it means avoiding the midday heat. Painting outside these limits is possible but slows drying and weakens adhesion, so tell us your site conditions and we will plan the schedule with you.

Can I use interior paint outside?+

No. Interior coatings lack the UV resistance, film build and weatherability that exterior exposure requires, and using one outside is a common cause of early peeling and chalking. Send us the substrate and whether the surface is sheltered or fully exposed, and we will specify the correct exterior system for it.

What warranty do you give?+

We warrant that the goods match the agreed specification and the technical data sheet of the grade supplied, and that batches are consistent within the agreed tolerance. Application performance depends on surface preparation and application, which is why we specify the system rather than only the product. Any performance warranty period is agreed in writing in the contract — tell us the project conditions and we will discuss what is realistic.

What if goods arrive damaged or leaking?+

Photograph before opening, keep the packaging, and notify us within 48 hours of arrival with the bill of lading number and batch numbers visible. We replace or top up what did not travel properly — we would rather do that than argue about who paid the freight. We cannot assess a claim on a photograph alone, so we will ask for what the case needs.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

How much shelf life must be left when the goods arrive?+

State the minimum remaining shelf life you require in the purchase order — buyers commonly specify 6 or 12 months on arrival. We can work to that, and we will put the batch production date and remaining life on the packing list so it is verifiable at your port rather than argued about later.

Can different product lines ship in one container?+

Usually yes, and it is the norm for us. Products can be consolidated when classification, compatibility, pallet load and route requirements allow. The freight provider reviews the actual shipment documents before loading, so the answer for your specific mix comes from them, not from us — we will supply the classification information they need.

What happens if we do not inspect before shipment?+

The goods ship and you inspect on arrival. That is workable, but a claim after arrival is harder to settle than a pre-shipment finding, because the batch is already broken and the question becomes what the condition was at loading. If volume justifies it, a pre-shipment inspection costs a fraction of replacing a container.

Do your products meet the new Chinese VOC limits?+

GB 30981.1-2025 became mandatory on 1 June 2026 in China and tightened the VOC limit for water-based interior flat paint from 80 to 50 g/L, and added limits for SVOC, total arsenic and MIT. Our standard-compliant grades are built to the current national limits, and we will send the test report for the exact grade before you order. If your market has its own national limit, tell us and we will check against both.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

How do you manage batch numbers?+

Every batch carries a code that ties back to its production record, and we keep a retained sample from each one. If you need one batch number per colour for a project, state that in the order and we will do it — it is the simplest way to avoid tone variation across a large site. Batch numbers appear on the packing list so you can file them on arrival.

Why is your wood coating classified as dangerous goods?+

Because PU and NC wood coatings contain organic solvents, and UN1263 is the internationally recognised UN number for paint-related flammable liquids. That classification decides the packaging, the labelling, the freight rate and the paperwork. It is also why wood coating is OEM-only for us: the compliance chain is heavier, and we would rather you knew the cost before you plan the product mix than after.

Which bank should I pay into, and who bears the fees?+

We will send a proforma invoice showing our company name, the bank account, the beneficiary and the SWIFT details, and you should check the beneficiary name against our company registration before paying — that single check prevents most payment fraud. Bank charges on our side are borne by us; charges on your side are yours. For large orders a letter of credit at sight is possible once we have a trading history.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

What about import duty and taxes on my side?+

Under FOB or CIF, import duty and taxes are on your account, and the rate depends on your country and the HS code we agree with you. We can suggest an HS code and declare the true value — that gets you an accurate landed cost. We do not under-invoice, and we will not suggest anything that would make your clearance non-compliant.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

How do I make sure the production batch matches the sample?+

Three steps: approve a physical sealed sample, write the approved colour code and batch reference into the order, and we retain a sample of the production batch and ship it with the goods so your laboratory can compare. Paint changes with age, wear and weather, so a later batch beside an older installed surface may still look different — agreeing a reference up front is what prevents that argument.

What do you need from me to place an order?+

Five things: which products and grades, quantities per product, colour codes or a reference sample, your delivery port or city, and the required delivery date. If you are still choosing, send us the substrate and the area and we will propose a system. Once we agree, we issue a proforma invoice for your review before anything is produced.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

Do you have a low-VOC version for indoor use?+

Our interior grades are built to the current national VOC limit of 50 g/L or below, and we will send the measured figure for the exact grade on request. If your project has a stricter requirement — a hospital, a school, a hotel guest room or a green-building specification — tell us the limit you need and we will confirm whether a grade meets it, or say plainly that we cannot meet it yet.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

Do you have stock, or is everything made to order?+

We hold ready stock on common grades and colours, and the rest is made to order. Whether your line is from stock or a production run, we tell you in writing before you pay, and a stock line can usually ship faster. Tell us the product, grade and colour and we will say which it is.

What documents do you supply with a private label order?+

For a private-label order we supply the technical data sheet and safety data sheet of the grade, the certificate of origin, the packing list, and the compliance documents you specify. We do not put your brand on anything we cannot document. Tell us what your market requires and we will confirm what we can supply.

Can you train our painters?+

Yes, and it is usually the fastest way to a good result. For a first order we can arrange an on-site application demonstration with the partner factory, and we provide application data sheets, colour cards and short application videos in the languages of your market. We also supply a simple method statement your applicators can follow without reading English.

Your price is lower than a local supplier. Why?+

Three real reasons: we buy raw materials in one of China's three coatings clusters, we can accept mixed containers that single-line factories decline, and we run a lower overhead structure than a national brand. We are not cheaper because the paint is thinner — our grades are built to GB standards and the batch is checked before release. Compare the technical data sheet, not only the price.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

If we visit the factory, when is the best time to come?+

Tell us your dates and we will arrange it around the production schedule, so you see a working line rather than a stopped one. Avoid the Chinese New Year period and public holidays, when output and attendance both drop. If your visit is tied to an audit, tell us in advance so we can prepare batch records and the inspection file before you arrive rather than during.

↗ Pricing is handled by a human specialist — send your specification and we quote within 24 hours.

Can we use your factory photos and case studies in our marketing?+

Yes, once we have agreed the product, the market and the claim being made. Send us the draft and we will check that the wording does not claim more than the documentation supports — for example that a certificate is valid, that the standard is the one we actually tested against, or that a photo shows your market rather than a showroom. We would rather correct the draft than have a claim come back to you.
